FloodHi! This piece was really fun to make, I’ve never drawn water before, so it was an exciting challenge to experiment with!

When I started, I had so many ideas that one image didn’t feel like enough. Since we could only submit one entry, I decided to combine everything into one. I love experimenting, and this work blends a bunch of elements that influence my style.At first, I imagined the world as a giant map, with a person walking across it to show how small we are compared to the vast ocean. Then I thought about turning it into a kind of guide or story that would draw the viewer into the submerged world.In the end, I created a small abandoned site—something that hints at the history of the ocean. A window shows the sea from inside, with water flooding in. A single light draws attention to the scene. There are panels, radars, and maps on the machines. Outside, you can see people riding giant fish, referencing overfishing. There’s also trash in the ocean, another sign of the damage being done to sea life.The exposed wires and cables show that even though we have advanced technology, we don’t always use it to protect what exists on Earth. This piece touches on a lot of things: pollution, wonder, exploration, decay. I wanted it to feel mysterious—something calm, but with danger just beneath the surface.The little character sitting inside is a diver I created. They’re using a magnifying glass to study a sea creature, not looking at the viewer directly. The water floods in, but the bed next to them acts as a kind of protection. I’ve always felt the ocean is peaceful and scary at the same time, and I tried to show that feeling here.

This is the biggest piece I’ve ever done as I don’t usually draw backgrounds! I made the background more detailed than the character on purpose, to create contrast. I hope that came across.🕒 Time taken: 5 days (June 25–29, 2025)

ME!

Hello! I am a 17 year old pianist, my study program involves around classical music.
I started playing the piano at the age of 6, wanted to join at 5 but the rules didn't let me at that time. Currently i am in my 11th year of piano and in order to finish my course theres still this year and the next one.

MY SKILLS

my plans after finishing are... I am in between doing JPR or learning a new instrument that being drums with a teacher to become even better..!

JPR (jazz, pop, rock) learns me a variety of genres out of classical piano. It also has in the program improvisation, playing with other instruments (band), techniques and lets u chose in between taken a extra class of composition or sound technician.

And this is me!! Need to really start finding better pictures of myself. I dont like sharing myself to much online so if u want to see my face let's just meet in real life stranger.

OTHER INSTRUMENTS I CAN PLAY

MY SKILLS (beginner)

dont have much experience with these instruments as i have constant burnt outs something i did notice is that i tend to prefer rythmn parts in instruments, they seem more fun for me. I can read tabs and do basic chords tho! Not sheet music as i never took the time to learn it.

BAND/ JAMS

I have been researching lately bands or people to jam with. I believe this will be a good experience to help me build contacts and also improve on my musical skills.

Said so i am looking for...
A learning environment it being wether a band or people to jam with. My experience levels might vary depending on the instrument said so i think a beginner-intermediate level would be the right thing for me.My location is... I reside in Belgium (FLanders) and i can go max. in distance from Staden-Brugge.

GENRES
I listen to a variety of genres such as... The beatles, The Police, The Smashing Pumpkins, Ghost, Kanonnenfieber and The Killers
Rock, Metal, Indie, Blues, Jazz, ...
